Memtest86+ is an application which boots off its own boot loader to start, eliminating the requirement of any operating system to launch itself. Since version 1.60 of this utility has been released, an added feature allows it to create a list of bad blocks of memory for testing purposes.
Utilizing this function, Linux OS kernel gains the capability of manipulating RAM regardless of any damaged areas in its use.

Samuel Demeulemeester designed and implemented Memtest86+ utility, using code taken directly from Linux 1.2.1 OS’ boot code as its basis. Written using C and assembler x86 programming languages, Memtest86+ supports modern dual and quad core processors as well as many motherboard chipsets.

Memtest86+ download for windows 10 operates using an algorithm: its original program writes all RAM in repetitions using data blocks prepared in advance; subsequent usage includes reading and checking written data in two passes: from junior addresses back up towards senior addresses as if reading from backwards!
Repeating this process across a large sample of data patterns to detect any possible errors is repeated for multiple data patterns to detect possible inaccuracies in software or to test settings, with either one pass through made depending on whether application settings permit multiple passes through or not.
